Architects Collaborative is established in Cambridge.

1945

It is founded by a group led by Walter Gropius. The firm designs a number of buildings in the Boston area and specializes in hospitals and schools. After it closes in 1995, Boston Globe architecture critic Robert Campbell writes, “[It] became a sort of godparent to Boston architecture. Numerous other firms were started by architects who’d learned the ropes at TAC.”
